Visitation by minors (under 18 years old) is restricted as follows:

  • General Policy: Minors aged 16 years and younger are not permitted to stay in the residence halls overnight. They may visit during daytime hours if accompanied by a parent or legal guardian.
  • Exception for 17-Year-Old Guests: Guests who are 17 years old may visit the residence halls during daytime hours but are not permitted to stay overnight (after 10 pm) without parental or legal guardian consent.
  • Parental Consent: Parents or legal guardians must complete a Minor Overnight Guest Form at least 72 business hours before the planned visit. This form must be validated and approved by the Office of Residence Life before the minor guest's arrival. The consent form should include emergency contact details for the parent or guardian, which the host must keep accessible during the visit.
  • Host Responsibility: Hosts are fully responsible for the conduct and welfare of their minor guests throughout their stay and must ensure adherence to all residence hall and university policies.
