Parents and Families Dining FAQs
What are Meal Swipes?
Meal Swipes are loaded onto your student’s UK WildCard ID and give access to both of our all-you-care-to-eat dining halls, Champions Kitchen (North Campus) and Fresh Food Company (Central Campus). Learn more about dining plan options and pricing here.
What are Flex Dollars?
Flex Dollars may be used at any of the dining locations on campus and can be reloaded at any time throughout the Fall or Spring Semester. Purchases made with Flex are tax free. Unused Flex Dollars roll over from the fall semester to the spring semester if your student has an active Spring plan.
What is the difference between Flex Dollars and CatCash?
Flex Dollars are a part of UK Dining meal plans and are used exclusively at dining locations on campus. CatCash, however, is a debit program that is a feature of your student’s UK WildCard ID. CatCash can be used on and off campus to purchase food, bookstore items, printing, copying, prescriptions, and more. CatCash is not operated by UK Dining. You can find out more about CatCash here.
My student has food allergies and/or needs special diet accommodations. What should they do?
For locations, meal plans, and nutrition information, please visit the UK Dining website. If your student has a severe food allergy, celiac, or other physiological condition requiring dietary restriction, it is recommended they register with the Disability Resource Center (DRC) or by contacting Susan Fogg. Once they have registered with the DRC, they will be referred to Jessica Carter ,RDN, LD, the liaison with UK Dining.
What if my student wants to change their meal plan?
Students can upgrade their meal plan any time during the semester. More information on meal plans and deadlines can be found here.
