UK's residence halls close for the longer academic breaks each semester like Thanksgiving, Winter and Spring Breaks. Campus residents are not expected to move completely out of their space during this time but they cannot remain in their suite without permission from UK Campus Housing and Residence Life. Any residents needing to remain in their residence halls past the announced deadline must inform their Resident Director (RD) and UK Campus Housing at least two weeks prior to the academic break.
The residence halls do not close for shorter academic breaks like Fall Break or long holiday weekends such as Labor Day and Martin Luther King, Jr. Day. The entire academic calendar can be viewed here.
