Returning Students for 2025-26 UK Campus Housing Update
As of February 1, 2025, University of Kentucky Campus Housing has implemented a waitlist for returning students applying for on-campus housing for Fall 2025. Due to high demand, returning students MUST now add themselves to the waitlist in myUK, in addition to submitting their housing application.
Returning Students who wish to join the waitlist and who have already submitted a housing application but have not received a room assignment, must follow the steps below to add their names to the waitlist.
WHAT THIS MEANS FOR RETURNING STUDENTS:
- No Guaranteed Housing: Adding your name to the waitlist does not guarantee a room assignment. Additionally, students must also have submitted a UK Campus Housing application via the housing portal.
- Plan: We recommend students consider alternate living arrangements off-campus, just in case on-campus housing does not become available.
Each academic year UK Campus Housing reserves a portion of rooms for returning students with space allocated on a first-come, first-served basis. More returning students are choosing to remain on campus and are submitting their applications earlier than before, making the process more competitive.
STEPS TO JOIN THE WAITLIST:

Log in to the myUK portal (myUK.uky.edu) with linkblue credentials.

Go to Student Services, then myinfo.

Click Campus Housing to access the housing portal.

Select the Undergraduate Housing Application for Fall 2025-Spring 2026.

Choose the Returner Waitlist and enter any housing preferences in the comments section.

Confirm you’ve been added to the waitlist in the Waitlist Status section.

Click Continue to finalize the process.
IMPORTANT DEADLINES:
- February 28, 2025: If a returning student decides not to live on campus, they must cancel their application in the portal by this date to avoid cancellation fees.
- If a returning student doesn’t act by February 28, we will assume they no longer wish to live on campus and cancel their application on their behalf.
IF A SPOT OPENS UP:
If a spot becomes available for returning students after they’ve been added to the waitlist, they will be notified by email. However, they must still cancel by February 28, 2025, if they no longer plan to live on campus.
FOR INCOMING FIRST TIME, FIRST YEAR STUDENTS FOR FALL 2025:
This waitlist only applies to returning students. First time, first year students who have applied to live on campus will be invited to participate in Room Selection beginning in March for Living Learning Program (LLP) students, and in June for non-LLP students. We strongly encourage any first time, first year students who have not already submitted their housing applications to do so as soon as possible to get the best chance of securing their preferred housing.
WHAT EVERYONE NEEDS TO KNOW:
- Stay Informed: Official communication from UK Campus Housing is the most reliable source for updates. Don’t rely on social media posts in “unofficial” UK groups. Only UK Campus Housing staff have access to the latest data and can provide the most accurate answers regarding housing availability and capacity. The availability of rooms can change quickly, so it is important to check emails regularly.
- Canceling Housing: If your student changes their mind about living on campus, they must cancel their housing contract through the portal by February 28, 2025, to avoid fees.
