The University of Kentucky provides a residential academic experience commonly referred to as the Living Learning Program (LLP). LLPs offer students an opportunity to live with other students who share like-minded interests or similar academic majors.

Why should I join an LLP?
LLPs are a great way for students to get connected to other students who are interested in the same things, and will mean they are living with students taking at least one course together. LLP students have special access to unique experiences and events, including off-campus trips, service learning, and career exploration. In addition, it puts them in close proximity to faculty and instructors, as well as peer mentors who can assist them with their coursework and getting involved on campus.
How do I apply for an LLP?
You will apply for to the Living Learning Program within your UK Campus Housing application. You can preference up to three LLPs.
When should I apply for an LLP?
LLP invitations are reviewed on a first-come, first-served basis. We encourage students to apply early for optimal considerations. The final deadline to apply for LLPs is May 15, 2025.
How many LLPs are there?
At this time, we have 11 LLPs that span a wide array of interests, majors, and identities. You can learn more about the Living Learning Program and its communities here.
I am not sure which LLP to choose, which one would you suggest?
While all of our communities offer unique experiences tailored to their specific mission, it is important for you as an applicant to think about what you would like to get out of your experiences. You can review more about each community on their individual webpages at go.uky.edu/llp. From there, you would want to rank your top three preferences on your housing application. Is there an additional cost to participate in an LLP?
No, there is no additional cost.
Are you required to live in the same building as the LLP?
Yes. It is important to live in the community with others so that you get the full experience of being affiliated with a community.
Can my roommate live with me even if they aren't accepted in the LLP?
No. At this time, the only community that allows for participants to live with roommates who are not affiliated is the Honors Residential Experience. LLPs require you to live with other members of the LLP.
How long do I have to decide if I want to accept my offer or not?
The earlier you decide whether to accept or decline your offer the better. This will allow you to select a room space in your community sooner rather than later. The last day to accept or decline an offer is May 22, 2025.
How do I accept my LLP offer?
To accept your offer follow the steps below:
- Visit the myUK portal.
- Select the Student Services tab.
- Choose Campus Housing under the myInfo tab.
- Choose Undergraduate Application.
- Select your Fall 2025 and Spring 2026 housing application.
- Click on LLP Offer.
I have already received an offer to an LLP. However, I still have not heard back from some of my other preferences, what should I do?
You will only receive one offer at a time. You must decline your current offer to receive an offer from any additional preferences.
